Lansing crosses three counties, and it can change your numbers
Most of Lansing is in Ingham County, but parts of the city are in Eaton and Clinton counties. All three are in rating area 7, but the 2026 Marketplace looks different on each side of the line:
| County (2026) | Insurers | Plans | Lowest Bronze, age 40 | Benchmark Silver, age 40 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ingham | 5 (incl. Ambetter from Meridian) | 51 | $416.21 | $448.22 |
| Eaton | 4 | 42 | $416.21 | $618.09 |
| Clinton | 4 | 42 | $416.21 | $618.09 |
Why it matters: your premium tax credit is pegged to the benchmark Silver plan. In 2026 the Ingham benchmark was about $169.87 a month lower than in Eaton or Clinton at age 40, so two neighbors with the same income can get different credits. The real 2027 figures depend on 2027 prices, your ages and your exact address.
Doctors and hospitals: check the network first
Lansing-area hospitals include University of Michigan Health-Sparrow and McLaren Greater Lansing. [UM Health-Sparrow; McLaren]
Networks differ by insurer and plan. McLaren Health Plan Community and Blue Care Network, for example, are separate HMO networks. We check your doctors, hospital and prescriptions in each 2027 directory. We don’t promise any provider is in a given network.
